I’m Helena-Alexis Seymour from Ottawa, Canada, and I’m an actress.
I’ve been acting since I was a child. My first audition was when I was about seven years old. I built my career in Montreal and Toronto, and I worked really well in both markets. I started noticing that many of the projects filming in Canada were actually coming from the United States.
Eventually, I realized I had reached a point where I wasn’t growing anymore. I felt like I was going in circles, auditioning for the same types of roles with many of the same directors. It was great that they knew me, but I wanted to expand and take my career to the next level.
The major Hollywood productions that came to Canada were mostly casting smaller roles locally. I thought, “If I were in Los Angeles, I could audition for lead roles instead.”
So I sent Lorraine a message just to see what she thought. She told me, “You’re beyond ready. Let’s get the process started.”
Hearing that gave me the confidence I needed. She made me realize that I was ready and that I could do this.
Lorraine personally helped me gather all of my documentation. It took about a year because I had such an extensive acting history, but she guided me through every step. The process turned out to be much easier than I had imagined. I had built it up in my mind as something incredibly difficult, but it wasn’t.
Two years later, I’m living my dream. I’ve renewed my O-1 visa three times and am currently going through the process of obtaining my green card.
The first time I applied for my O-1 visa, everything went smoothly. I couldn’t believe I had waited so long because the process was so straightforward. The second renewal was just as smooth. During the third renewal, there were a few minor requests for additional information, but Lorraine knew exactly what to do. She simply told me what she needed, handled everything, and we quickly got back on track.
Now we’re working on my green card application. I’m working with Fatima, and Lorraine continues to be by my side throughout the process. They’ve both been incredibly helpful.
I even have their personal phone numbers. They’re so caring—it feels like having another mom looking out for me.
